English Language Educator
I have been teaching English to learners for over fifteen years in the US and abroad. I have worked with students from a broad range of backgrounds from teenagers to retirees, in private one-on-one tutorials and in large classes.
I am currently a lecturer at Stanford University where I teach English to international graduate students. I also offer private English language courses to individuals and groups.
Snail Mail Enthusiast
I have always been fascinated by snail mail, even before there was such a concept (because email wasn’t yet widely used!). I remember a short campaign I embarked on when I was nine or ten to write letters to world leaders. Since then, I’ve found deep satisfaction in the ache of my hand after writing several pages of a letter, and a shock of joy at receiving a real letter addressed to me from a friend.
Amateur Baker
I’ve been baking since I can remember. I love the fussy, detail-oriented work of following a recipe, adhering to the directions as I can. Of course, the best part is when the bake comes out of the oven (or off the stove!) and you wait for it to cool enough to eat. If you live near me, you may be the target of a drive-by give away.
