      <image:title>Home - English Language Educator</image:title>
<image:caption>I have been teaching English to learners for over fifteen years in the US and abroad. I have worked with students from a broad range of backgrounds from teenagers to retirees, in private one-on-one tutorials and in large classes. I am currently a lecturer at Stanford University where I teach English to international graduate students. I also offer private English language courses to individuals and groups.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Snail Mail Enthusiast</image:title>
<image:caption>I have always been fascinated by snail mail, even before there was such a concept (because email wasn’t yet widely used!). I remember a short campaign I embarked on when I was nine or ten to write letters to world leaders. Since then, I’ve found deep satisfaction in the ache of my hand after writing several pages of a letter, and a shock of joy at receiving a real letter addressed to me from a friend.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Amateur Baker</image:title>
<image:caption>I’ve been baking since I can remember. I love the fussy, detail-oriented work of following a recipe, adhering to the directions as I can. Of course, the best part is when the bake comes out of the oven (or off the stove!) and you wait for it to cool enough to eat. If you live near me, you may be the target of a drive-by give away.</image:caption>

      <image:title>English Language Teaching - My background</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m an English instructor and linguist living in San Francisco, California. I grew up in a big family (by US standards anyway!) near Flint, Michigan where I studied Spanish and French in undergrad. After teaching English in a high school in northern France, I moved to northern Texas to earn my Master’s degree in Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Then I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I earned my PhD in Linguistics and taught linguistics to undergraduate students and intensive English language classes to international students. In 2012, I moved to San Francisco and I’ve been teaching full-time at private universities and seeing private clients since then. For more detail, you can see my resume here.</image:caption>

<image:title>English Language Teaching - “I was very lucky to work with Kristopher during my MBA preparation. .. I was impressed by his attention to English learners and his gentle style of correcting mistakes... Kristopher’s lessons helped me understand a lot of the cultural aspects of the language, which I believe is very valuable… [D]uring my preparation for the MBA, I had another goal – improve my writing English skills. At this time, Kristopher developed the curriculum, found the relevant materials, and taught me techniques for creative writings. Later in my MBA admission journey, I was looking for improving my interviewing skills… I like his structured approach to every request I had… [W]e did mock interviews. Kristopher recorded the whole lesson and then divided it by interviewing questions. He provided audio files with a thorough analysis of pronunciation, intonation, and figures of speech for every question. Overall, I am very grateful for all the tremendous work done by Kristopher! He taught me English in a way no one does before. Kristopher lighted my learning journey with anecdotes, jokes, and fun! .”</image:title>
