I grew up in a big family (by US standards anyway!) near Flint, Michigan where I studied Spanish and French in undergrad. After teaching English in a high school in northern France, I moved to northern Texas to earn my Master’s degree in Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Then I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I earned my PhD in Linguistics and taught linguistics to undergraduate students and intensive English language classes to international students. In 2012, I moved to San Francisco and I’ve been teaching full-time at private universities and seeing private clients since then.
